The scent
Steam-distilled from the seeds of sweet fennel, a tall, feathery herb with yellow flower heads. Its scent is warm and sweet, with a clear aniseed note and a soft green edge that lingers as it settles.
It sits well beside lavender or geranium, and a little wild orange brightens it. A mellow scent for a reading nook on a rainy afternoon.
