The scent
Steam-distilled from the fresh rhizome of the ginger plant, the underground stem from which its roots grow. It is warm, earthy and woody, with a peppery, zesty edge at the start that softens as it settles.
It sits well beside wild orange for a sweeter feel, or beside cedarwood and a little cardamom for depth. A lively scent for the hallway on crisp autumn mornings, as the leaves turn.
