The scent
Steam-distilled from both fresh and dried rhizomes of the turmeric plant, the knobbly, bright orange underground stems of a leafy plant. It is warm, earthy and woody, with a peppery edge that softens as it settles.
It sits well beside cedarwood or wild orange, and a little frankincense gives it depth. An unusual spice note for the living room on autumn afternoons, as the leaves turn.
